Take the First Step Towards a Healthier You

 Men’s Health Week is a great opportunity for men across Kirklees to focus on their health, wellbeing, and lifestyle.

At Kirklees Wellness Service, we’re proud to be supporting local residents with accessible, supportive activities designed to help you feel better, move more, and take control of your health.

Why Men’s Health Matters

We know that men are often less likely to seek support for their health. Whether that’s physical fitness, mental wellbeing, or lifestyle habits like smoking. Men’s Health Week is about changing that. It’s about creating simple, welcoming opportunities where you can take that first step in a relaxed and supportive environment.

What’s Happening This Week

We’ve teamed up with local partners, The Batley Bulldogs Sporting Foundation to offer a variety of free and low-cost activities that are open to all men at Batley Bulldogs Community Gym.

Monday – Wellness Workshops

Kick-start your week with a Wellness Workshop taster session led by Joseph from the Kirklees Wellness Service.

  • 1:00–2:00 PM
  • 7:15–8:00 PM

Tuesday & Wednesday – Open Gym Sessions

Get active with our open gym sessions at Batley Bulldogs Community Gym:

  • Tuesday: 8:00–10:00 AM & 5:15–7:00 PM
  • Wednesday: 8:00–10:00 AM

Whether you’re new to exercise or getting back into it, these sessions are a great way to move more at your own pace.

Thursday – Move and Connect

  • Open Gym: 8:00–10:00 AM
  • Wellbeing Walk: 10:30 AM
  • Wheelchair Rugby League Training: 6:00 PM (Batley Grammar)

From gentle activity to more specialised sessions, Thursday is all about keeping active in ways that work for you.

☕ Friday – Memories Café

  • 10:00–11:30 AM

A relaxed space to connect, chat, and support your mental wellbeing in a friendly environment.

💡 Suggested donation: £2 for gym sessions and Memories Café.
All activities are open to all men 18+
